How does under eye bag removal work?

Under eye bags or dark circles can be treated in both men and women with tear trough fillers or under eye correction. The best filler for this is Teosyal, but Belotero is also a good option. During this treatment, the practitioner will make a small injection on each side of the tear trough.

With a blunt needle, also known as a cannula, filler is then injected into the under eye bags. This fills the void, meaning the dark color under the eyes becomes less visible, and you regain your fresh look. You may also have what are called “tear troughs” under the eyes. These bags can be removed with a lower eyelid correction.

During this treatment, the practitioner will make a small injection on each side of the tear trough. With a blunt needle, also known as a cannula, hyaluronic acid filler is then injected into the under eye bags to reduce them. The treatment takes about 30 minutes.

You should not exercise for 24 hours after the treatment, and for two weeks after the treatment, you should not visit the sauna or sunbed. Exposure to UV radiation can make the skin extra sensitive and affect the result of the treatment. It is therefore better not to take these risks.

Aftercare for Under Eye Bag Removal

After the treatment, you can move the treated area as usual. However, make sure not to massage these areas for the first 48 hours. It is possible that you may experience bruising or slight swelling after the treatment. Bruises can be camouflaged with makeup a few hours after the treatment, once the injection sites are closed.

Furthermore, you should not exercise for 48 hours after the treatment and avoid visiting the sauna or sunbed for two weeks. Exposure to UV radiation can make the treated skin extra sensitive and affect the result.
