How does a marionette lines treatment work?
Filling your marionette lines is done with a hyaluronic acid or Radiesse filler. The type of filler the cosmetic doctor uses depends on the depth of the folds and your skin structure. Advice is given based on your desires, skin structure, and the depth of the lines. First, the corners of the mouth are examined and marked where the injections will be made.
Then, a number of injections are made with a filler along the corners of the mouth downwards towards the jawline. This may be done using a cannula. In addition to marionette lines, it may be beneficial to address lines on the entire face, which can be done with a liquid facelift. A cosmetic doctor can provide more information about this during a consultation.

The Result of Marionette Lines Treatment
The optimal result is visible after 2 weeks. The marionette lines are softened or even completely disappeared, making you look younger and happier. If you are not satisfied with the result, you can come back to your cosmetic doctor for a check-up 2 to 4 weeks after the treatment.
The effect of the treatment with a hyaluronic acid filler lasts 6 to 9 months. With a Radiesse filler, you will enjoy the result for 9 to 12 months. After this period, you can come back for a repeat treatment. If the marionette lines are gone but you still have drooping mouth corners, you can make an appointment for a treatment with muscle relaxants.
Marionette Lines Treatment Aftercare
Within the first 48 hours after the treatment, you should not massage and rub the injected area unless specifically advised by the doctor. You can still move your face. After the treatment, you may experience bruising or swelling, in which case we recommend cooling the area. The swelling will diminish after a few days.
Bruises can be camouflaged with makeup a few hours after the treatment when the injection sites are closed. Additionally, you should not engage in sports for 24 hours after the treatment and avoid visiting the sauna or sunbeds for 2 weeks after the treatment. UV exposure can make the skin extra sensitive and affect the result of the filler treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions about Marionette Lines
Marionette lines are the folds that run from the corners of the mouth to the jawline. These are caused by the skin losing volume and elasticity over time. This makes the lines very visible, creating an angry or sad look. With fillers, we put an end to this.
At Faceland, we use Belotero, Juvéderm, or Radiesse. The latter is a calcium filler, which is ideal for deeper folds. Belotero and Juvéderm are based on hyaluronic acid, which can also effectively soften your wrinkles. Your doctor
That varies depending on the brand of filler. For hyaluronic acid fillers like Belotero and Juvéderm, we use 1 ml. For Radiesse, 1.5 ml is injected.
Marionette lines are caused by a combination of volume loss, decreased elasticity, and gravity. These three factors cause the skin to sag more, resulting in folds at the corners of the mouth. Some people experience them earlier than others. This can be due to genetics, as well as external factors such as UV radiation.
There is no fixed price for this treatment. It depends on the brand of filler and the amount used. Additionally, the placement of the substance and the practitioner can also make a difference. Check our price list for more information.
