How does a lip flip treatment work?
First, a practitioner examines your upper lip and where the muscle relaxer will be injected. This area may be marked if necessary. Then, small openings are made in the lip border to inject a small amount of muscle relaxer, causing your upper lip to subtly curl.
Muscle relaxers during a lip flip treatment temporarily relax the muscles around the mouth and in the upper lip. This treatment is virtually painless, so anesthesia is not necessary. During the consultation, the practitioner will examine your face and take some photos so you can compare the result after the treatment. This allows you to see if your wishes have been met.
A practitioner examines your lips and the skin around your lips, where small punctures will be made. If necessary, this area is marked. Then, a few injections are made in the area. Anesthesia is not required for this treatment. The treatment takes about 15 minutes.
You may not exercise for up to 24 hours after the treatment and should avoid visiting saunas or sunbeds for up to 2 weeks after the treatment. UV exposure can make the skin extra sensitive and affect the result. It’s better to avoid these risks.

Result of the Lip Flip
The optimal result of a lip flip is visible after two weeks. You’ll see that the upper lip has a slight curl for a beautifully accentuated upper lip. Your lips are now more even without the need for fillers! If you’re not satisfied after 2 weeks, you’re welcome for a follow-up appointment with the same practitioner.
This appointment should take place within 2 to 4 weeks after the treatment. The effect of the muscle relaxer will last about 3 to 4 months. Do you suffer from smoker’s lines on your upper lip and want to enhance your lips? Then we can fill these lines with fillers.
Aftercare lip flip
Within 48 hours after a lip flip treatment, do not massage or rub in and around the mouth. We also advise against lying in direct sunlight or visiting a sauna or sunbed. After a treatment, you may experience bruising and slight swelling, which will disappear within a few hours.
A few hours after the treatment, when the puncture holes are closed, you can already camouflage the spots with makeup. Furthermore, within 48 hours after the treatment, you should not exercise, and within 2 weeks after the treatment, you should avoid the sauna or sunbed. UV exposure can make the skin extra sensitive and affect the result.
