How does a Traptox treatment work?
It always starts with a consultation. During this, you discuss your symptoms with your practitioner to determine if Traptox is the right solution for you. If it’s a go, the treatment can begin! Between 20 to 50 units of muscle relaxer are then injected on both sides of the trapezius.
As the name suggests, the muscle relaxers induce relaxation in the trapezius. This can alleviate numerous symptoms, including tension headaches, a stiff neck, and pain in the neck and back. In some cases, it may even create the appearance of a longer neck. It’s somewhat akin to face slimming: achieving a slimmer area and relief from symptoms in one.
Traptox Treatment Steps
You can book an appointment for a Traptox treatment via the website. Alternatively, you can contact us by phone at 088 101 4600. We’re available Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 15:00.
Consultations at Faceland are always free and non-binding. During this appointment, you discuss your symptoms with a practitioner. They’ll determine if you’re suitable for the treatment and how many units of muscle relaxer are needed. Photos may also be taken to document any volume loss in the area.
At the start of the Traptox treatment, the area is marked. This ensures the practitioner knows precisely where to inject. The muscle relaxer is then injected with multiple injections. The muscle will temporarily relax, potentially alleviating symptoms.
After the treatment, refrain from exercising for at least 48 hours, and avoid the sauna or sunbeds for the first 2 weeks. Also, be cautious in the sun and apply sufficient sunscreen. You can resume wearing makeup once the injection sites have closed, usually within a few hours.
Prices of Traptox Treatment
The price of a Traptox treatment depends on the quantity of muscle relaxer used.
You’ll receive an estimate of the exact price during a free and non-binding consultation.

Result of Traptox
Immediately after your treatment, you may not notice much change, but after two weeks, the result is truly optimal. You’ll experience much less tension in the neck, shoulders, and head. Any tension headaches may disappear, and you’ll feel much lighter! You can enjoy this result for about three months.
If you’re not satisfied with the result after two weeks, return within two to four weeks for a follow-up appointment. Perhaps we’ll then recommend a specialized migraine treatment that may work better for you.
Traptox Aftercare
After the treatment, you can move your shoulders normally. However, avoid massaging the area unless instructed otherwise by your practitioner. The injections may sometimes cause bruising or slight swelling, but this will quickly dissipate. You can cover this with makeup once the injection sites have closed. This usually takes a few hours.
Wait at least 48 hours before exercising, as sweating can expel the muscle relaxers. Similarly, refrain from visiting the sauna or sunbeds for the first 2 weeks. Exposure to intense sun and UV radiation can make the treated area more sensitive and negatively affect the result.
