Breast implants before and after
How Does a Breast Implant Procedure Work?
Before your surgery, you’ll have an initial consultation where you discuss your desires and expectations with a consultant. On the day of the procedure, it’s essential to remain fasting. First, the plastic surgeon will mark your breasts, indicating where the incision will be made. Then, the anesthesiologist will put you under anesthesia so you won’t feel anything during the operation. The surgeon will make incisions in your skin where the breast implants will be inserted.
The location of the incisions and implants depends on your body and can vary from person to person. Once the prostheses are in place, your skin will be stitched up, with incisions made in a discreet location so that any scars are (almost) invisible. You’ll be bandaged with dressings and then moved to a recovery room. Want to give your breasts a new look without adding volume? Consider a breast lift.

During the consultation, the consultant will go over the breast implant procedure with you. You’ll discuss your expectations and the available options. You’ll also receive more information about the surgery, aftercare, and potential risks of plastic surgery. The consultant will measure your breasts, and you’ll try on a bra with various prostheses. The consultant will also inquire about your health and medication use for the safety of your surgery. Bring a recent medication overview from the pharmacy. In a second appointment, you’ll meet your plastic surgeon and discuss the treatment plan again.
At the beginning of the surgery, one of our plastic surgeons will mark your breasts, and you’ll be put under anesthesia. An incision is made in the breast where the implant is placed, and everything is stitched and bandaged. The surgery lasts about an hour.
The stitches in or under your breasts will dissolve on their own, and you can remove the bandages after two weeks. Once the wounds have healed, you can start applying scar cream. Take enough time to recover and avoid heavy lifting. After six weeks, you can resume your normal activities. Try not to bend, stretch, or lift during the first two weeks after surgery. You may start driving two weeks post-op, as long as you feel comfortable. Wear the post-operative bra day and night for six weeks to provide adequate support.

Silicone implants have a long lifespan, but we recommend replacing them after ten years. If you experience any issues before that, you can always contact Faceland. Should the implants need replacement in the future, we are here for you with prosthesis replacement services.
Aftercare for Breast Implants
A few hours after waking up, you can usually go home. You will be given medical supplies to ease the pain. The stitches in or under the breasts will dissolve naturally, and the bandages can be removed after two weeks. Once the wounds have healed, you can start applying Alhydran scar cream.
Take your time to recover, and avoid heavy lifting. You can resume these activities after six weeks. For the first two weeks after surgery, avoid bending, pushing, and stretching.
