Breast lift before and after
How does a breast lift work?
Before undergoing a breast lift, you will first have a consultation. During this appointment, you will discuss your concerns and wishes with a consultant, and the degree of sagging will be assessed. This is important as it determines the surgical technique. At Faceland, we distinguish between the donut lift and the full breast lift. If you’re sure about your decision, you can schedule an introduction with the plastic surgeon. During this second appointment, the treatment plan will be discussed, and a surgery date will be set.
Before the surgery, your plastic surgeon will review everything and mark your breasts. You will then be placed under general anesthesia, and the surgeon will proceed with the agreed technique to lift the breasts. Afterward, incisions are closed with dissolvable sutures and covered with bandages. You will be taken to the recovery room where you will wake up. After a check-up, you can go home.
Step-by-step guide to breast lift
We are available from Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 15:00 at 088 101 4600. If you have a question about surgery, select option 2. For emergencies, choose option 0. Our service team is happy to assist you.
Before you can be operated on, you will first have a consultation. Here, our consultant will outline the entire process for you, from preparation to recovery. You will also express your wishes and examine your breasts together so she can determine how the surgeon can lift them. Additionally, you will discuss your health, so always bring a list of medications. If everything is satisfactory, you will schedule a surgery date and an introduction with the plastic surgeon.
During this second meeting, you will meet the plastic surgeon and discuss the treatment plan.
Just before the surgery, your plastic surgeon will review everything again and mark your breasts. You will then be placed under general anesthesia, allowing the surgeon to proceed. The previously discussed technique will be used to lift the breasts. Once completed, everything will be sutured with dissolvable stitches and covered with bandages. You will be taken to the recovery room to gradually wake up. After a check-up, you can go home.
After the procedure, you will receive pain medication and instructions to take home. It is important to rest adequately, preferably for six weeks. Avoid exercising, bending, or raising your arms. Additionally, wear a post-operative bra for at least six weeks, day and night. You may notice that your breasts feel tight or that the scars are sensitive in the first weeks after the surgery. This will gradually improve, and the scars will fade over the months.

The result of a breast lift
After a breast lift, your breasts will sag much less. They will appear more prominent and youthful. If you had back pain as a result of your breasts, this may also be reduced. If you combine the breast lift with augmentation, you will naturally gain more volume as well. The goal is always to give our patients a sense of confidence.
Before you can enjoy the results, you will need to be patient. In the first weeks, your breasts will be covered with bandages and a post-operative bra. Once these are removed, your new breasts will continue to develop for several months. After three months, you will see a clear indication of the result, but after one year, it will be truly optimal.
Aftercare for breast lift
Wear a post-operative bra day and night for at least six weeks after your breast lift. You will receive this after the surgery. You can remove the bandages after two weeks, and the stitches will dissolve on their own. For four to six weeks, avoid exercising, bending, or lifting heavy objects, as this puts too much pressure on the breasts. You may start driving again after two weeks, but always listen to your body.
It is important to live healthily. Therefore, stop smoking two weeks before and four weeks after the breast lift. Make sure to drink enough water and eat healthily. After six weeks, you can generally return to all activities, but you will only see the real results after three months. The optimal results will be visible after about a year. During this time, protect your scars from UV radiation, as they are very sensitive.

Frequently Asked Questions about Breast Lifts
A breast lift is the surgery for sagging breasts. During the procedure, excess skin and breast tissue are removed, and the nipple is repositioned higher, resulting in a beautiful lift.
At Faceland, we perform a donut lift or a full breast lift. The technique used depends on breast size and the severity of sagging. You can also combine one of the breast lifts with a breast augmentation, adding extra volume with implants.
During a breast lift, excess skin tissue is removed to combat sagging breasts, without adding extra volume. In breast augmentation, volume is added using implants, resulting in a larger cup size. Both procedures can be combined.
The results of a breast lift will be reasonably visible after three months. However, complete recovery can take up to a year, partly due to healing scars.
It is important to take it easy after a breast lift. Avoid heavy lifting, bending, and exercising for four to six weeks. You may drive again after two weeks, but listen closely to your body. It will take a minimum of six weeks before you can return to all activities.
