Lowe eyelid correction before and after
How does a lower eyelid correction work?
Before undergoing the surgery, you will first have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your wishes and concerns. If everything is confirmed, a surgery date is set. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. The surgeon makes a small incision under the lower lashes, through which excess fat is removed or repositioned.
Excess skin is also removed to reduce the appearance of bags, and the area is tightened. The incisions are carefully closed with dissolvable stitches and covered with adhesive strips, which you should not remove yourself. After the surgery, you will be taken to a recovery room to wake up. Following a check-up, you can go home the same day.

Results of a lower eyelid correction
After recovery, your eyes will look much fresher. The swollen bags and excess skin will have been removed, giving you a less tired appearance. This gives your eyes a more youthful look. The result is permanent, though natural skin aging will continue. While we turn back the clock, we can’t stop it.
Before enjoying the full result, your eyelids need to recover from the procedure. The stitches on the lower eyelids will dissolve over time. To help the scars heal, hypoallergenic plasters are used and stay in place for about a week. The optimal result becomes visible once the scars have healed. In some cases, the scar from a lower eyelid correction is fully healed within a year.

During a free consultation, you’ll discuss the lower eyelid correction with a plastic surgeon. You’ll get a clear idea of how the surgery works and whether you’re a suitable candidate. Health, aftercare, and risks are also discussed. If all is good, you can schedule a surgery date.
The lower eyelid correction is performed by a plastic surgeon in an external clinic. First, you’ll be put under anesthesia, so you won’t feel anything during the surgery. The surgeon makes an incision just under the lower lashes to remove or reposition fat. Excess skin is also removed. A strong stitch is placed on both sides of the eyes to support healing. The skin is closed with a fine dissolvable stitch.
Recovery from eyelid correction takes about two weeks, although this varies from person to person. We recommend resting completely for at least two days. Take the prescribed medications and avoid strenuous activities. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided to ensure a smooth recovery.

Aftercare for lower eyelid correction
After the surgery, the aftercare phase begins! First, it’s important not to drive, as your vision may be blurry and medication can affect your driving. You can shower briefly the day after the surgery, but avoid long sessions, as heat and steam are not beneficial. Avoid heavy lifting, bending, and other strenuous activities for the first week to reduce pressure on the eyes.
We also recommend cooling the eyelids for the first 24 hours to minimize swelling. You can continue cooling afterward for pain relief if necessary. The skin and scars around the eyes may remain sensitive for several months after the eyelid correction. Protect them from the sun by wearing sunglasses and/or a hat. While you may mostly recover within two weeks, swelling may take up to six weeks to completely disappear.
